UN1TY HAVEN- Designed to provide emergency housing for teens and independent living for young adults, with a focus on holistic care (mental, physical, and emotional), could be called UN1TY HAVEN. This program would emphasize trauma-informed care and provide a safe, stable environment where youth can transition to self-sufficiency while receiving comprehensive support.
Our objective is to provide a safe and nurturing environment for teens and young adults in crisis, offering emergency housing and independent living support through a trauma-informed, holistic approach that focuses on mental, physical, and emotional well-being. UN1TY Haven offers a place to call home while supporting their journey to self-sufficiency.
FOREVER VILLAGE - Designed to foster a family dynamic for displaced youth, filling the gaps of their natural family with elements of what we call a “nurture family” for long term support.
Our objective is to create a consistent, family-like support system for displaced children, designed to provide long-term, continual guidance, love, and stability through community-driven relationships.
BRIDGEWAY RESOURCE ALLIANCE- Designed to provide community support and vocational resources for young people newly displaced or lacking necessities. This center would focus on partnering with businesses, corporations, and nonprofits to offer workforce development, trauma-informed care, and distribute in-kind donations to meet the immediate needs of youth.
Our objective is to bridge the gap between displaced youth’s immediate needs and their long-term success by offering workforce development, trauma-informed treatment, and providing tangible necessities such as clothing, hygiene products, and daily living items. Through partnerships with businesses, corporations, and nonprofits, Bridgeway Resource Alliance empowers displaced youth to build self-sufficiency and resilience.
OUR WORK
Foundation/ Our Beginning
Amidst the 2020 global pandemic, UV was created by De’Nasia “Ms.Dee” Walker to support families in children in need of support. Epitomizing the concept “it takes a village”, UV provided supplemental education support, social engagement, and resource navigation to the community acquaintances.
After realizing that the need was far greater than our reach we continued to build an alliance of individuals that have come alongside to expand beyond Mecklenburg County to now lending the network of support to the displaced children across the state of North Carolina.
